ED stands for Enforcement Directorate. It is a play in enforcement agency, which was highly thought of in 1956. It is responsible for enforcement of the Foreign Exchange Management Act, 1999 (FEMA), and unqualified provisions knocked out the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), 2002. It is headquartered in New Delhi, India.
